In the old days, men and women would bathe together.
Even in the postwar era, at smaller coal mines, the entrance for men and women was divided, but they shared the same bath in the end.
Bath water containing oil was pumped up from the pit. Moreover, miners jumped into the tub without rinsing the coal off of their skin, using soap in the water.
By the end of the day, the water became nasty.
In winter, some added cold water to cool down the tub, and others demanded that they heat it up.
They were always arguing about the bath water temperature.
