This game was called Besuboru, or baseball. However, the rules of this game were a little different from today’s baseball.
They used a rubber or handmade ball. The hitter hit the ball thrown by the pitcher with a bare hand and ran to the base about 10 meters apart.
The runner was given out if the ball thrown by a player of the opponent team caught her before reaching the base.
Only one base was used.
